A new reality show soon on the screen to try where others failed: being actually watched by someone.
If history teaches something, this is that – at least so far - poker related reality shows have never made it to become really successful on TV screens.
So, one could wonder, how could the new 'Living the Life', a poker-themed reality show starring two beauties as Trishelle Cannatella and Amanda Kimmel, represent the classic exception to the rule?
Poker on TV: few big hits, plenty of fails
When hearing about poker on TV we always to bring to our minds programs as Poker After Dark and High Stakes Poker: two classics that made the history of the game and undoubtedly contributed to the explosion of poker as a mass phenomenon.
And, the other side of the story, is that no one associates Texas Hold'em and television to any of the (unsuccessful) reality shows aired during the past years. Yet, in the U.S. someone seems to have come to the conclusion that all the past failures could be turned into a success still insisting on the idea of a reality-format, just tweaking it that tiny little bit that the audience need to discover it and like it.
Convinced of the great power of the good old combo made by poker and beauty, Living the Life producers decided to give the main roles of their work to two attractive girls - Trishelle Cannatella and Amanda Kimmel - who will be traveling around the world for taking part to various poker tournaments.
Or, even better, to use poker as a mere excuse for getting into any kind of different adventure – as cameras promise to be around also when the two girls will not be busy at the poker tables with poker chips and cards in their hands.
Be glamorous, be pokerous!
According to what “Living the Life” producers said while presenting their project to the press, the idea is to tell about the lifestyles of glamor Cannatella and Kimmel, which they find being "very attractive to television audiences."
This – they promised – still will not mean that the two will not take their games seriously once sitting at the poker table, offering poker lover the chance of seeing the life of an average player happening on the screen and keeping it busy while you use your TV as background noise during your online poker sessions.
Yet, one may ask, who are Trishelle Cannatella and Amanda Kimmel?
The first is a 34 years old American model and actress who become known to the general public thanks to a reality show (The Real World, edition 2002). After posing nude for Playboy, she also participated in the Lingerie Football League in 2006, becoming a favorite of the audience.
Amanda Kimmel is also an American model and actress, 5 years younger than her colleague. Similarly to her colleague, Amanda also owes her fame mainly to two reality shows: Survivor: China and Survivor: Micronesia – both shows that saw her leaving as runner up.
