US Government Shuts Down Full Tilt Poker, PokerStars and Absolute Poker to US Players

US Government Indicts Full Tilt Poker, PokerStars, UB and Absolute Poker

As most players have heard by now, the US government has blocked access for players to Full Tilt Poker, PokerStars, UB and Absolute Poker.

We are currently looking into the situation and will update members when we hear more regarding how this will affect players on these rooms.

Due to the weekend and high volume of e-mails the sites are receiving currently, we've been unable to get any confirmed information from the poker rooms yet.

Every citizen in the US should be ashamed of themselves for voting for these criminals over and over. Lets send Washington a message and never vote Republican or Democrat again. I for one will never vote for these bums. I have followed this conviction for a number of years now. We as a nation have nobody to blame but ourselves.

I just got a check but haven't cashed it yet and have a feeling it will be denied. Made another withdrawal yesterday when this all came down but it was denied so that tells me the party is over. I am mad as hell. It is not the money. I have made thousands over the years so a $500 loss is nothing compared to my profit. Who I am really mad at is the Feds. for screwing the small guy. The sites are all off shore so the chance that they will lose anything other than legal fees is unlikely. But the sites have themselves to blame also. I saw this coming with Party Poker and I discussed it with name players, Tom Mcevoy and Mike Sexton to name two, but they all poo pooed it and now here we are again. Money laundering is a big issue now and the DOJ and Homeland security make banks doing innocent transactions jump through hoops but the sites just buried their heads and kept chasing the golden egg. FT attempted to buy a bank for payouts. They essentially offered a bribe of millions of dollars to the banks owner. That sent up a red flag but FT,etc ignored it. They knew this was all a possibility 2 months ago when the DOJ approached them yet they all feel invincible. If these sites had guranteed revenue for the govt. coffers maybe this could have been rectified but they chose to give the FEDS the middle finger. Trust me, I am no fan of government intrusion into ones private life, especially when you can bet on almost anything on-line and the state lotteries are a rip off and prey on the poor but if there is game to be played you don't just say "FU" and think u can still keep playing. We have a draconian, "moral police" justice dept. I for one am not surprised they did what they did. Its cruel, stupid, and hypocritical but don't just thumb your nose at them. Play a better game rather than go all-in every hand.

i live in canada and cant get into poker sites

relax...of course we are all pissed off about the criminals in government pulling this crap. However, what I believe will happen is the following. The government will legalize on line gambling and require the sites to pay taxes on their profits. Those sites that comply, and which ones wouldn't, will be open for business. These sites make so much money without paying any taxes that the government has finally decided to get into the act here. It will take awhile but they will legalize all this gambling, tax it and all will be right with the world. Just wait and see or go to the sites that are still open to Americans. The government is run by the biggest thieves in the world..no doubt about it...all of them.

Since these rooms were caught manipulating hands to increase the rake I am happy they were indicted. I still have a check that full tilt sent me that was on a closed account. Perhaps this will open the door to getting a U.S. regulated site through a genuine gaming commission that will allow us to enjoy an honest poker game. Shame on fulltilt and pokerstars for putting themselves in this position. It is nice to see their greed caught up with them I hope they do jail time and lose every dime they have for not being truthful and honest in their poker dealings.

Jim, cam you quote where you'd read that "these rooms were caught manipulating hands to increase the rake" or is this just some bs you made up to? The charge against those sites is about tricking and bribing banks, not about cheating poker players!
