Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker payment delays

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008

Hello!

Due to UB and AB’s recent merger with Cereus there will be payment delays for November’s rakeback. After the merger there were some complications with the rake reports we use to calculate the payments. We are currently waiting for the complete reports for November, once they have resolved the issues that occurred due to the merger we will be able to request the payments to be made.

We hope for your understanding in this matter as it is out of our hands. We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused our members, unfortunately it could not be avoided.
Regards,

Top 5 Phil Hellmuth “The Poker Brat” Moments

Friday, December 12th, 2008

The Poker Brat himselfm Phil Hellmuth shows no sign of cooling down after many years of whining on TV, by the poker tables, in articles, online. The eleven-time winner at WSOP just keeps at it. No doubt a good poker player, but still, even at a professional poker level, moaning over lost hands, bluffs, bad call and bad beats. In recent years he has become known for his behaviour rather tha game and poker skills. He even adapted the nickname “The Poker Brat” as it so elegantly described his posh nature.

in any case, here are a top 5 list of Phil Hellmuth’s most remarkable reactions:

  1. The Patented All-in Call
  2. Table talk whining
  3. A bad read
  4. Some more whining over a bad call
  5. Hellmuth Vs. Durrr

What is your favorite hand in poker?

Friday, December 5th, 2008

doyle-brunson-10-2When me and my buddies gather for our monthly poker night in Joe’s basement, antes and straddling are not the only things applied to make the game somewhat more interesting. With normal buy-in at about $50 a common “extra feature” to the game is picking a pre-flop hand and whoever wins a pot with it also get $1-$2 extra from all players. In our case it is normally the worst possible pre-flop hand in Texas Holdem - 7-2 offsuit.

For poker legend Doyle Brunson however it is 10-2, also knowadays called “The Brunson”. Brunson has won no less than 2 WSOP finals with 10-2. It has simply become one of those hands with special meaning. All poker players have these type of low-outed pre-flop hands that has brought they good fortune in the past. And although it goes against all poker theory and strategy - even the top pros have favorite hands, incosiderate of it’s potential and winning-average.

What is your favorite hand and why?
