LeTune’s Bankroll Build Attempt #1

Friday, September 19th, 2008

1pm

With Roxanne by The Police playing in my headphones I just started building my bankroll at Poker Heaven. Starting at a weak $10 deposit I have decided to play Sit & Go’s until passing $30, if I make it that far. Honestly, the whole grinding game, building up your stack over a longer period of time has never been my particular strength; the essential skill in mastering online poker. When I played the most, a few years back, I was always the most successful at 1-time deposits playing shorthanded cash games shortstack on semi-high levels. And though I managed to build my bankroll then too, from $200 to $2000 several times, I tended to jump levels always playing with the majority of my bankroll. This of course led to the inability to handle the losses after suffering some serious bad beats.

But today I’m taking a different approach, starting with a small deposit and the prospect of some serious grinding. Initially however, I will use my whole bankroll hopefully dotching the bad beats and reaching $30 before sitting down at the cash game tables and playing with smaller per cent of my bankroll.

I’m already down $6, leaving a mere $4 of which I just invested $3 into a shorthanded NL Holdem Speed Sit & Go. 3 players left. Wish me luck!

 3pm

Outdrawn on a all-in pre-turn in the Sit & Go I couldn’t help but sit down at a cash game. Depositing an extra $20 and using the Find Player function I located no other than LeChesee sitting at a $0.25/0.50 NL Holdem table hammering away. After a couple of hands I was down to about $15 when I got KK. Worth mentioning is that the last couple of sessions have been quite dry on monster hands, resulting in hours throwing 10 3, J2 etc only to end up being outdrawn on a solid hand. This time was no different where my Kings went all in preflop only to be called by a pair Aces. Tough luck some might say, but I gotta say. My streak of bad beats is going epic on me. Back to $0, I suppose you’ll have to wait until next week when LeTune’s Bankroll Build Attempt #2 is initialized.

Royal Flush Vs AAAA - WSOP 2008 Main Event

Friday, September 12th, 2008

An unusually sick hand, considering the fact that the probability of hitting four of a kind, better yet a royal flush is 0,000240 Vs. 0,0000139. This showdown does not make it anymore easier to accept since it’s WSOP 2008 Main Event. But then again perhaps crazy hands like this belong in a context where the stakes are high and the players are professional. I would seriously go ballistic if I lost a huge pot with four Aces on Poker Heaven. I’m sure we all can agree how much that would sting. What makes this hand comical though is not only that comedian Ray Romano is sitting at the table, looking truly confused, but also the almost non-existing chance of these hands been dealt, never the less dealt in the same round.I can only thank the Poker Gods for televised poker, because a showdown like this should never go unnoticed. Especially since a Royal Flush is a hand only played by a lucky few. Watch the amazing hand:

LeTune Vs. LeCheese!

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

A function I praise and one that PokerHeaven luckily feature in their client, is finding players. And that’s the first thing I did after crediting my bankroll with some Benjamins. Seconds later I was seated on a $0.25/0.50 cash table for some good ‘Ol no limit texas holdem. I had found LeCheese, fishing for chips in one of the dark corners of the poker room. Don’t ask me why I had typed in his nick in the Finding player search box. Subconsciously I guess I had something to prove. After all this was his blog and thinking about it, substituting for LeCheese is going to be some large shoes to fill (literally, his shoes are huge). Secondly I guess I wanted to prove to all you readers, who presumably miss his rambling words and early eliminations in the LeCheese Challenge.

So I have made it my mission, to step out of the shadow, slay my dragon and prove once and for all that LeTune is a poker player, forced to be reckoned with. If anybody is up for some heads-up action, simply comment place and time (preferably PokerHeaven)!

Here’s proof by the way. In a $4 pot, the win was certainly not about the money.

LeTune shows who's Boss!

Tips: If you’re playing at PokerHeaven, look for doc75! See the empty seat to my right, that’s where doc75 was pounding away his chips. Not so many hand before the screenshot was taken LeCheese took him out.

If, after the first twenty minutes, you don’t know who the sucker at the table is, change table!/LeTune
